As a runner and cyclist in Toronto, I always fall in love wit the city over and over again when on the many different trails Toronto has to offer.
The Martin Goodman trail can be chilly (esp in the winter), but it’s has some beautiful sites.
Where: The Martin Goodman Trail is a 56 kilometer trail within the Waterfront Trail (www.waterfronttrail.org/) that spans from the Humber Bay Arch Bridge to the Rouge River. Recently, the stretch along Toronto’s Harborfront has been revitalized and now includes a bike path along Queen’s Quay (no more hugging the curb as cars whiz by)
How: Whether you include the Martin Goodman trail as part of your route from home, drive to it, or go one way and TTC back, there are many different ways to access the Martin Goodman trail.
What I like to do: I enjoy biking through Ashbridges Bay and the Beaches area early (before it gets too crowded). Depending on the time of day, I might make a quick stop at Tori’s Bakeshop (on Queen St E) or grab lunch at Paralia on Lakeshore Blvd. East.
