I had a home inspection after purchasing a new property and the inspector went over the report with me explaining, with great detail, all the little things that should be taken care of immediately, but would be easy for me to do, and the more significant repairs that I would need to call a tradesman for.
When he suggested that I call over a few friends to help me replace a low roof with minimal slope, I laughed. I don’t even own a ladder, so forget fixing a roof…I have never even climbed on a roof!
I was overwhelmed with all the little repairs that I needed to do. New roof, new flooring, rotting siding, electrical repairs, plumping, etc. I decided to call a general contractor to help me with these repairs.
After getting some recommendations from friends, I called JEL Contracting and then shared the home inspection report with them. I felt so at ease when they said they could take care of everything, coordinate it, and make sure I would get quality work at a fair price. I felt like there wasn’t going to be any B.S. or games and I actually said, “that sounds too good to be true”.
Key Point: I am not sure why there has to be so many games with some tradesmen (e.g., inflating prices, poor quality work, etc.), but it’s nice to find trustworthy General Contractors that can manage all the trades and get the work done without the games or headache.
