Doug McNish’s Harvest Dinner

10.03.2015 by Lindsay Borden Works //

Let me start by saying that I was so hungry and so excited about the food, that I forgot to take any pictures!

I love going to Doug’s pop-up dinners for a few reasons:

  • At Marlee and Glencairn, it is easy to get to from a variety of different neighbourhoods around Toronto
  • While it is close to the Glencairn subway stop, there is also free parking behind the restaurant
  • The food is plentiful and flavourful (I recommend bringing a group of friends so you can share many different dishes)
  • I know everything I am eating is organic and vegan
  • There’s something for everyone

I went with 4 friends to October 2nd’s pop-up shop. We filled up on appetizers: gnocchi, beet ravioli, mushroom calamari, raw pizza, and french onion soup. The martini was great with acai and kombucha. Then we made sure we saved room for dessert: a terrific apple pie (and I am not really an apply pie fan), and the chocolate trio (my favourite was the churro).

In lieu of pictures, feel free to read the descriptions on the menu: 2015 Fall Harvest Menu

My only regret was not having room to try the Meatloaf Platter (a massive meal). Fortunately, I found out that this will be available if ordering the thanksgiving dinner: Thanksgiving Dinner

Happy Eating!
