This past Thanksgiving long weekend, I dragged my boyfriend to Caledon for a hike on a gorgeous warm fall day.
We were probably a week too early for unbelievable colours, but it was still a great day.
We chose to enter the Bruce Trail at the Forks of the Credit Provincial Park:
Pros:
- There are trail maps by the parking meter
- The trails are all well marked
- There are many ponds, streams, and a nice waterfall
- Trails range from wide and flat to narrow and steep
- You can hike through fields or in the trees
- Trail running is also popular here
- Close to the GTA
Cons:
- Parking was $14.50 for the day. There was one machine and it didn’t accept credit cards (this made for a long line).
- The park and parking lot gets very busy as the day goes on (get there early)
- There weren’t many opportunities to loop through trails, so we had to do some out and backs
